Research Interests
My research interests include plant and fungal diversity, utilized, neglected, and under-utilized plants, sustainable use and value chains of plant resources, threat assessment and conservation status, climate change impacts and ecosystem services, biogeography and macroevolution, restoration and conservation biology, taxonomy and systematics—particularly of the Asteraceae family and the Espeletia (frailejones) group—floristics and inventories in tropical and Andean ecosystems, and the application of integrative and interdisciplinary methods that combine ethnobotany, economic botany, molecular techniques, spatial analysis, participatory approaches, and biocultural perspectives.
