The American Society of Plant Taxonomists promotes research and teaching of taxonomy, systematics, and phylogeny of vascular and nonvascular plants. Organized in 1935, the Society has a membership of over 1100. The Society publishes two journals, Systematic Botany and Systematic Botany Monographs, provides funding for research and travel grants, and conducts scientific meetings each summer.   • ASPT Members (Current and Lapsed):  Please use the two fields on the left hand side of the page to login with your username and password whenever you want to submit information or payments to the online system.  Login allows the new system to automatically record any changes to your data along with the payment amount and date. The login fields are available on any of the payment or renewal pages; for any login problems, contact Linda Brown <aspt@uwyo.edu>. 

All members will submit the renewal form online through this system whether they are making a payment by credit card, sending a payment by check, or submitting a membership update form where no payment is required.  Emeritus Online Only members will use the "Membership" link to submit their membership update form annually.  Life members will complete and submit the "Life Membership Update Form".

On the "Membership" page, you will have the opportunity to donate to any of ASPT's funds at the same time you submit your renewal form.  After you login, your primary contact information should be autofilled on the page, and if you have made a previous payment, your billing contact information will be also be autofilled.  When you make changes to any of the contact information fields, the data will be updated automatically in the new data storage system when you submit your renewal form.  If you are submitting a payment by credit card, it will be processed immediately.  If you mark the "payment by check" button, your record will be updated and will indicate that the payment is pending until the check is received and processed by the business office.  Emeritus Online Only members may submit the form without a payment.

The "Donations and Other Payments" link is available to you for online payments or donations throughout the year when you are not submitting a renewal payment.

  • New ASPT Members:  The membership year runs from January 1 through December 31.  To join ASPT, please visit the link to our Membership payment page.  Once you have submitted your contact information with your payment, a membership record will be created for you, and you will receive an email message that will provide you with login details to use for future payments.  You may also login at any time to edit your contact information by going to the "My Account" link.  If you have any general membership questions or questions during the application process, please contact Linda Brown at the ASPT Business Office <aspt@uwyo.edu>. 


  • Guests for Other Payments:  Visit our Donations and Other Payments page to submit your payment.  Please be sure to provide any helpful information in the payment note text box regarding the payment (invoice number, note about a sponsorship, etc.).
  •  Institutional Subscribers:  Please contact Linda Brown at the ASPT Business Office <aspt@uwyo.edu> for secure, online login and payment instructions.
